Yesan-gun’s New Office Building Construction Project proceeds seamlessly
- The new county office building is to be established as an “eco-friendly one-stop administrative service town,” with 8 aboveground floors and 1 underground floor, to provide the residents with quality administrative services.
The New Office Building Construction Project of Yesan-gun is being executed, with the aim of building a new county office building for the first time in around 50 years. It will be built as an eco-friendly one-stop administrative service town in an environment where there is a blend of an urban forest and cultural spaces in order to provide a combination of administrative, residential and business services.
According to the statement released from Yesan-gun on May 9, the construction project was initiated in October 2015, as it was deemed that the aging facilities, compact spaces and insufficient parking spaces have inconvenienced the public service users. They plan on providing quality administrative services to the public service users in a more comfortable and pleasant environment.
A total of KRW 58.3 billion has been invested into the construction project, with plans to build an 8-story building that contains a basement floor, with a gross floor area of 25,805㎡, on a 35,397㎡ lot. There will be around 630 parking spaces, a cafeteria, a lobby that can serve as an exhibition space, an art hall and a multi-purpose square. It will be an eco-friendly one-stop administrative town, where an urban forest and cultural spaces blend together harmoniously.
As of May, the interior masonry work, plastering work, interior construction, external curtain wall construction, window construction, granite tile installation and civil engineering works are being conducted. With the construction being 61% complete, the project is expected to be finished as scheduled in December, without any delays.
Yesan-gun has developed organic cooperative ties with the parties involved in the construction project in order to build the finest office building, without any faults and safety-related accidents. Efforts have also been made toward the payment management to prevent any delays in the payment for the costs of labor, materials and equipment incurred to the subcontractors.
Once the new office building is erected, it will undergo a pilot operation phase by the end of this year, and the relocation and opening ceremony will be held in January next year. It is anticipated that with the spacious and pleasant environment of the new office building, the county officials will be able to satisfy the diverse administrative needs of the local residents, provide quality administrative services through innovative changes and reform, and help improve the quality of life for the local residents by boosting income and ensuring stable livelihoods.
Also, with plans to relocate the public health center to the new building, the construction of which is set to be completed by May next year, it is expected that Yesan-gun will be able to provide diverse and quality administrative and public health services to the county residents.
An official at Yesan-gun Office said, “The construction project to build our new office building by the end of this year, with the application of new construction technologies and techniques, is proceeding seamlessly and it will result in the nation’s finest government office building with a safe and pleasant environment. We are dedicating ourselves to the project to lead the advancement of our country and strive toward a better future, and we ask our local residents for their cooperation and support.”
