Reporting a Change in the Place of Sojourn

  • This is a civil applicant filed by registered foreigners or overseas Koreans (F-4) to report a change in the place of sojourn or residence according to the following regulations.
    • Within 14 days after moving into a new place of sojourn, registered foreigners need to file a move-in report to the head of Si/Gun/Gu, or the head of the Korea Immigration Service office with jurisdiction over the new place of sojourn.
    • Within 14 days after moving into a new place of residence, - foreign nationals or overseas Koreans (F-4), who registered one’s address in Korea with the Korea Immigration Service, need to file a move-in report to the head of Si/Gun/Gu, or the head of the Korea Immigration Service office with jurisdiction over the new place of residence.
  • One-person households wishing to file an online report must do it personally. However, if the person is aged 17 or younger, the parent can apply on his or her behalf. Personal authentication certificate is necessary for the report. (Authentication certificates are issued by financial institutions such as banks, etc.)
  • For registered foreigners with a dependent family (F-3) registered with the Korea Immigration Service, the head of the household may file the report for the entire family or the household members may file the report individually.
  • In case the household consists of registered foreigners and resident foreigners, the household members must file the report individually.
  • If you need a (move-in) confirmation date in accordance with the Housing Lease Protection Act, please contact the eup/myeon office of your residence for inquiries.

  • Passport, foreigner registration card, or residence registration card
  • Proof for the place of sojourn/residence (Accommodations Agreement or Lease Agreement)
  • ※ Letter of appointment and ID card necessary for representatives

  • ※ Online application: www.hikorea.go.kr (e-Application -> File an e-Application -> Notification of Change of Residence)

Processing time From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (not available on Sat., Sun. and holidays), processed immediately if the applicant meets the qualifications
