Yesan is a major apple producer in Korea and is famous for its splendid natural environment with a blend of majestic mountains, vast fields, and shimmering lakes. It is particularly known for the stunning Yedang Reservoir, Gayasan and Deoksungsan mountains, as well as Sapgyo Plains that turn golden every fall. It also boasts a rich history and cultural heritage, with Sudeoksa Temple, Chunguisa Shrine, the House of Chusa, and Imjonseong Fortress.
In recent years, our county has been receiving a growing number of tourists seeking to explore Yedangho Suspension Bridge, Yesan Hwangsae (Stork) Park, Bongsusa Recreation Forest, Naepo Bobusang Village, and other tourist attractions.
We also take pride in the 8 Flavors of Yesan (Yesan sogalbi (beef ribs), Yedang bungeo-jjim (braised crucian carp), Yedang minmureojuk (freshwater fish porridge), Sapdari gopchang (tripe), Sudeoksa sanchae-jeongsik (set menu with seasoned wild vegetables), Yesan jangteo-gukbap (rice soup), Yesan guksu (noodles), and Gwangsi Hanwoo (Korean cattle) beef), which are special dishes that can only be enjoyed here.
We will continue to strive to create a city brand that befits our status as the home of Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Office, as a “county that is pleasant to live in” and a “county that becomes united as one for a brand new tomorrow.”
I wish all of you excellent health and good fortune. Thank you.
Yesan County Mayor Choi Jae-Ku
